2 ½ cups apples – peeled, cored, and sliced |
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour |
1 cup white sugar |
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon |

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Arrange apple slices evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sift flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt into a bowl. Cut in butter using a pastry blender, or 2 knives, until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal; sprinkle over apples.

½ cup brown sugar |
4 tablespoons butter |
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove core from the top of each apple, leaving a well.
- Stuff each apple with 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1 tablespoon butter. Place in a shallow baking dish and sprinkle with cinnamon.
