Ingredients:
2 (1 ounce) slices white bread |
1 tablespoon butter, softened |
3 tablespoons apple pie filling |
Steps:
- Spray a cast iron pie cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Evenly spread one side of each slice of bread with softened butter. Lay a slice of bread, butter side down, into the cooker. Spoon on pie filling, and top with second slice of bread, butter side up.
- Close up cooker, and cook over a hot campfire, turning occasionally, until the pie is hot and golden brown, about 4 minutes.

Insanely delicious hobo pie foil packets recipe.

Ingredients:
1 ½ lb. Ground beef |
1 Packet French onion soup mix |
1 lb. Baby gold potatoes cut into pieces |
2 Carrots peeled and sliced |
1 Onion sliced |
2 Tbsp. Olive oil |
Salt and pepper to taste |
4 Large sheets of aluminum foil |
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Form the beef into four evenly sized patties, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place one patty in the center of each large sheet of tin foil.
- Add an equal amount of potato, carrot and onion to each foil packet.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the foil packet contents.
- Sprinkle the French onion soup mix over the packets.
- Fold the long sides of the tin foil sheets up and over the contents, and roll closed to secure.
- Roll up the remaining sides of each piece of tin foil to form a secure packet.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Careful open the foil packets and serve.
