Grilled Cleveland Polish Boy Recipes | Traeger Grills

russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
canola oil
salt
mayonnaise
sour cream
white vinegar
salt
pepper
celery seed
shredded green cabbage
purple cabbage, shredded
shredded carrot

  • To make the fries: Cut peeled potatoes into long 1/4-inch thick matchsticks, placing them in a bowl of cold water. Pour 3-4 inches of oil into a cast iron pot and heat to 275 to 300 degrees F. Drain the fries and pat dry. Working in small batches, fry the potatoes until they are soft and pale, about 3 to 5 minutes. Drain on paper towels and increase the oil temperature to 350-375 degrees. Again working in small batches, add the fries and cook until crisp and golden, about 1-3 minutes. Drain on paper towel and season with salt to taste.
  • To make coleslaw: In a small bowl combine mayo, sour cream, vinegar, salt, pepper and celery seed. In a medium bowl combine cabbages and carrot and toss with mayo mixture. Stir to combine. Set aside.
  • When ready to cook, set the temperature to 350 degrees F and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Grill sausages 8-10 minutes or until heated through turning once. Place sausages on buns, top with Traeger BBQ sauce, French fries and coleslaw. Enjoy!

  • My Cleveland Browns-inspired burger draws on the influence of Eastern European cuisine, as well as good old American French fries!  For my Polish Boy burger, I sear a beef patty, then top it with a helping of Kielbasa, a handful of fries, and a pile of coleslaw.  
    Ingredients

    Hamburger bun
    ½ pound of ground beef
    Kielbasa
    French Fries
    Cole Slaw
    2 slices Cheddar cheese 
    BBQ Sauce (optional)

    Directions

    Form a dimpled ground beef patty and season both sides with salt and pepper.  
    Cut a Kielbasa sausage in half, lengthwise.
    Heat an oiled pan to medium-high.
    Cook patty and Kielbasa at the same time in the same heated, oiled pan.
    Flip the meats and add cheese to the patty.  
    Top the patty with the Kielbasa.  This will melt the cheese. 
    Turn off the stove heat.  Remove patty from pan and let rest.
    Place burger on bun.
    Add fries on top of burger.
    Top it off with cole slaw.  
    Place top bun and cut the sandwich in half.

    To add a tangy twist, smother your Polish Boy Burger in BBQ sauce!
