Wild cherry plums are tossed with sugar, then soaked in vodka for a sweet-tart cocktail garnish.

Ingredients:
1 pound cherry plums, rinsed |
1/4 cup sugar |
14 ounces vodka (1 3/4 cups) |
Steps:
- Poke plums with a fork and transfer to a lidded 1-quart jar. Sprinkle with sugar and pour in vodka. Cover with lid and shake. Let stand in a cool, dark place 2 weeks, shaking daily. Plums can be refrigerated in jar up to 6 months.
